In the July 2025 issue of Racer X magazine, we ran a feature entitled “Ward v Honda” about the rivalry between one rider, Kawasaki’s Jeff Ward, and all of Team Honda. Between 1982 and 1996, Honda riders won all but two AMA Supercross Championships. The only two Honda did not win—1985 and ’87—were taken instead by Wardy, who spent almost his entire career with Kawasaki.
