As a Damon Bradshaw fan, 1993 was really the worst year. This was the year his expected takeover fizzled, and a rookie named Jeremy McGrath began setting records and redefining what winning looked like. By the end of ’93, in fact, Bradshaw retired, citing burnout. In getting to know Damon through the years, I’ve realized that Bradshaw only lived for winning, and if he was merely riding well but not dominating, he didn’t want to race at all.
