John Dowd (27), Damon Bradshaw (8), Lance Smail (36), and Larry Brooks (17) blast off at the 1993 RedBud 250 National, back when fluorescents were big in moto and so were clothing companies like AXO, MSR, and Xtreme. We sent the man who shot this photo on 35mm film, Chris Hultner, back to RedBud in 2021 after a long hiatus from motocross photography. You can check out his return to form on page 56—only this time he’s shooting digital!
