FIM Motocross of Nations
St. Jean D’Angely, France // September 19, 2011
It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since Team USA won the annual FIM Motocross of Nations. Once seemingly a birthright for American riders, with epic winning streaks of 13 years (1981–’93) and seven years (2005–’11), the last decade has been downright depressing for Team USA and its fans. The string of defeats has been the result of misfortune, injuries, crashes, and, to be quite honest, a general lack of interest on behalf of many top riders here. In fact, even with the 2021 version fast approaching, we’re still not sure at the end of August who exactly will line up for Team USA at the end of September in Mantova, Italy.
