ach Osborne is peaking at age 30. Makes complete sense to me. For too long, we’ve heard the “riders retire early” narrative, based on a top-heavy model of Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Villopoto, and Ryan Dungey hanging up the boots around age 27. If you want to study riding, racing, or winning, go ahead and take notes from those guys. But please don’t use them as a model for the broader nature of retirement in this sport.
