Ever since news of the electric Stark Varg motorcycle hit like a flash of lightning in December 2021, the global moto industry has been trying to figure out what exactly to do with them. We’ve all heard that electric motorcycles (and cars) are the future, but where do they fit in the present? How do racing organizations like the AMA and FIM integrate them with existing ICE (internal combustion engine) motorcycles? How do we collectively not make the same mistake the existing powers-that-be did back in the mid-nineties when they matched up displacements of 250cc two-strokes and 450cc four-strokes–and even more lopsided 125cc two-strokes with 250cc four-strokes?
