Jeremy McGrath’s AMA Supercross career began in 1989 with a modest 11th-place finish in his first 125 SX at Anaheim’s Angel Stadium. Several years later, Ricky Carmichael broke his handlebars off in his first real go in Indianapolis. James Stewart and Travis Pastrana both crashed multiple times in their debuts. On the other hand, several riders have won their first supercross: Brian Swink, Ernesto Fonseca, Ryan Dungey, Trey Canard, Adam Cianciarulo. . . .
