Developed by Charlie Pausina, the SlipShot is a compact hydraulic damper that controls clutch engagement at the start of a race. Mounted near the engine at the clutch actuation arm or hydraulic master cylinder, it’s activated by a handlebar-mounted lever when the clutch is pulled in and shifted into gear. When engaged, the SlipShot’s internal shaft extends to contact the clutch lever arm, allowing the rider to hold the throttle wide open and dump the clutch, while the unit manages smooth engagement for maximum traction and acceleration. Once the clutch is fully engaged, the system locks out for normal clutch function. The damper is fully adjustable, offering slower engagement for slick starts and more aggressive settings for tacky surfaces.
