Reason For Being
The end of 2021 was accompanied by a flurry of big stories that will no doubt affect the future of our sport. While the test tracks in California and Florida were humming with riders and race teams getting ready for the start of the 2022 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, news was being made in other parts of the world. An impressive new electric motorcycle from Spain was introduced, as was a new FIM “World Supercross Championship” partner from Australia. There was also yet another unfortunate rise in the seemingly never-ending pandemic all over the world, and accompanying shutdowns and travel restrictions that could rear their ugly heads at any time in this new season.
It’s an ambitious undertaking, given that supercross is a primarily U.S.- based discipline of dirt bike racing and there is already a very good promoter of it here—Feld.
