These are heady, controversial, polarized times. Every topic is a powder keg ready to explode; every take is grounds for an argument. I hate this all-or-nothing, with-us-or-against-us thinking. It doesn’t lead to smart decisions. When you go to the store, you apply balanced thinking even when making inconsequential decisions like what cereal to buy. We’re having a tough time applying that to more important topics. We’re thinking in anger.
