After watching last week’s race in Arlington and Austin Forkner’s crash, I can’t think of one reason why the AMA and or Feld is not putting dirt down everywhere? There have been so many of these types of crashes onto concrete as well as riders crashing when they go off track and slip on the concrete. This seems like a small expense to support rider safety.

Good question, Brad, I am sure that Feld and Dirt Wurx are addressing this moving forward. The surface area of the stadium floor at AT&T Stadium is huge, so just having the dirt available might have been a factor. And I’ve forwarded a lot of suggestions to them, from using foam pads like gymnastics does to getting “air fence” like they have in road racing, thanks to John Ulrich of Roadracing World and Team Hammer.
