In light of the Justin Barcia penalty for knocking Jason Anderson down at Detroit and losing 3 points but no positions, here’s an interesting rule proposal: if the perp’s move puts the other rider on the ground, the aggrieved rider should be able to swap finishing positions with the perp if he chooses to. Sure, it’s full of the pratfalls of a subjective interpretation when it’s applied, but it’s an interesting concept, and I think it would clean a lot up. Maybe it’s because I was a road racer, but I just hate all the dirty riding in supercross.
