RED STORM RISING. AGAIN.
Going into 2022, Slovenia’s Tim Gajser was already the winningest Honda rider in FIM World Championship history, having won four world titles and 33 Grand Prix events. With primary rivals Antonio Cairoli now retired and Jeffrey Herlings out with a fractured heel, it was clear sailing to start the new season, Gajser winning the first MXGP rounds in Great Britain, Italy, and Argentina (shown here). “Tiga” had an impressive early points lead over French Yamaha rider Maxime Reneaux and the GasGas-mounted Spanish star Jorge Prado as they began their summer-long motocross campaign.
