It took a village to get Cole Davies to America. People love the journey; they just don’t want it to look so serious

Cole Davies has done it. He’s delivered the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX East Championship in dominant fashion. That’s great. People want more than titles from him, though. They want him to wear a hat. A funny hat. This year, an ultra-serious version of Davies emerged, and while that helped frame his high expectations, fans wanted a return to the standout vision of his breakout rookie season. That came when he wore a sombrero during opening ceremonies and did a TV interview while wearing it. Then the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider dropped his deadpan dry humor in the press conferences and on podiums. This rookie wasn’t just fast; he was funny.
