GRANDPA EARL Dean Wilson's YouTube character was the star of Honda HRC Progressive's creative announcement on signing the veteran Wilson to a fill-in ride for the last five rounds of Monster Energy Supercross, having lost both of the Lawrence brothers to injury. Honda posting the video on April Fool's Day was icing on the cake; Grandpa Earl riding out during opening ceremonies at the Philly SX was the cherry on top.
DAVIES The rookie sensation from New Zealand achieved a rare feat when he won back-to-back 250SX main events, first in Seattle and then again at the Philly East/West Showdown. The last newcomer to win two straight was Trey Canard back in 2008 when he started his professional SX career off with three straight wins and the East title.
