Foxborough Supercross
1983
Back in 1983 New England hosted its first-ever AMA Supercross at Foxboro Stadium, home of the New England Patriots football team. This was well-before the Patriots became the NFL dynasty of this millennium—future GOAT Tom Brady was still quarterbacking his elementary-school’s Pop Warner team out in San Mateo, California. This was also before the SX and AMA Pro Motocross schedules were split, so the race took place on July 24, two weeks after the RedBud National and one week before the U.S. 250cc Grand Prix at Unadilla. It was also the second-to-last round of what was called Wrangler Supercross for 1983.
