El Wey
Most of the motocross world did not know Geronimo “El Wey” Bacur’s amazing story—at least not until he was gone. Geronimo was a motocross champion from Argentina whose life took a terrible turn last November when he lost his left arm in an automobile accident. Through hard work and perseverance, he got back on the motocross track, riding with one arm. He became even more of an inspiration to his fellow racers, especially after he started getting surprisingly good results against non-disabled competitors. Tragically, Geronimo Bacur was killed in a crash while competing in the Cordoba Motocross Championship. His funeral brought out thousands of fellow riders and fans who had followed his inspirational career. He was just 23 years old. Godspeed, El Wey.
