High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, is a serious motocross track. As one of the pillars of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, going back to 1977, the steep hills that run up, down, and around the valley setting get incredibly rutted and complicated. Many pros say it’s one of the most challenging tracks on the whole outdoor national schedule. So I was expecting a weekend full of braking bumps, choppy ruts, and of course arm pump when I headed there in October for the first Red Bull Day in the Dirt Out East. What I got instead was a modest, grassroots-level track that combined the best elements of motocross and off-road, surrounded by peak foliage and chill vibes from everyone attending this new event. It was a downright fun weekend at the races.
