There is certainly a place for motocross’ top amateurs to gather and determine who is best positioned to be the next Jett Lawrence, but end-of-season fall races at your favorite local track are hardly it. This is where racing brings us back to the reasons that brought us here in the first place: the anticipation of rolling out onto a freshly groomed track as your bike warms up, feeling all of life’s problems whisk away as the wind blows through your jersey, and, of course, a camaraderie that’s nearly impossible to understand unless you’ve been there and done that. Every rider has their own reasons, and the High Point Big Dave Vet Homecoming is one of those special events where they can come full circle.
