Reason For Being
If you’ve been around the sport of motocross racing for very long at all you know the disappointment of seeing good tracks close down, oftentimes for good. It happens for a multitude of reasons: noise, dust, suburban sprawl, environmental concerns, etc. The biggest threat of all is liability concerns and the inability for track owners and operators to find affordable insurance. It’s an urgent problem that’s recently helped shut down well-known tracks in Southern California, as Lake Elsinore MX Park and LA County Raceway have now joined a long list of Golden State tracks that have disappeared: Carlsbad Raceway, Saddleback Park, Indian Dunes, Escape Country, Zaca Station, Starwest and many, many more.
