SAVATGY After a departure from JGR/Yoshimura Suzuki left Joey without a ride for 2021, he was spotted testing the SmarTop/Bullfrog Spas/MotoConcepts Honda—and then suddenly, at the KTM Media Intro event in California, it was announced that he had signed a deal with Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS, replacing Blake Baggett.
SUZUKI The smallest of the Japanese OEMs is struggling to field a factory effort on the AMA circuit now that JGR has been forced to close, yet they somehow won their first MotoGP title in 20 years when Spanish speedster Joan Mir took the 2020 title in the world’s most expensive form of motorcycle racing.
HONDA For getting yet another MXGP title (how many for Gajser now?) and striking out again in 2020 on the AMA circuit, as the GOAT curse continues—they haven’t won any AMA 450 titles since Ricky Carmichael’s mic-drop 24-0 (and only season) on the CRF450R, after Honda passed on renewing his deal.
