Elizabeth City Motorcycle Club has been a mainstay in northeastern North Carolina for over fifty years. Founded in 1967, the club has changed locations three times, growing in size and scope with each transition. Originally a flat dirt track at its inception, the current location shares space with a Go-Kart track and an oval dirt stock car raceway. The motocross track at its inception in the early 1980s was constructed of the sandy dirt from the construction site of the four lane Highway 17 nearby, hauled in by local farmers. Club members form a supportive, multi-generational family sharing in the maintenance, support, and promotion of the organization and its riders. AMA professionals such as Cooper Webb, Malcolm Stewart, Coty Schock, Damon Bradshaw, and Tony DiStefano have had wheels on the ground at ECMX. Our current track is located in Elizabeth City, NC and is only open to the public on race weekends where we host an organized practice on Saturday and racing takes place on Sunday. Our track is a little over one mile and the fastest riders have lap times of just under two minutes. All of our events are staffed by club members, flaggers are always on the stands, and EMS is present both days of a race weekend. We offer free dry camping with your gate fee and there are always fun activities planned for our youth racers! Come race with us at our Annual Vet Shoot-Out on November 16-17.
