The history of American motocross and supercross is filled with pivotal championships and races where a changing of the guard seemingly takes place, and one era of motocross leads to another. Jeremy McGrath’s upset win at the ’93 Anaheim Supercross is one example; Ricky Carmichael knocking Jeremy off at A3 in 2001 is another. In Pro Motocross, many thought another
changing of the guard was about to take place at the 2026 opener at Fox Raceway, as the sensational Haiden Deegan was soon to take the fight to Jett Lawrence and friends in the 450 Class. Of course, that didn’t happen, as both Jett and Haiden were outgunned by Jett’s older brother, Hunter, and Spanish import Jorge Prado. Jett, returning from a long spell on the sidelines, was third overall, with Deegan fifth.
