If something's not broken, why would you try and fix it? That's how Jett Lawrence answered a reporter’s question after he won the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross opener, the Dirt Bike Kidz Fox Raceway 1 National in Pala, California. And his answer made sense to anyone watching that race. The 17-year-old put on a master performance aboard his Honda factory CRF250R, coming from deep in the field in the first moto to finish second, then making short work of the frontrunners after a much better start in the second race to clinch the overall. It was the second straight outdoor national win for Lawrence going back to the 2020 season ender, also at Fox Raceway, as well as a second straight in ’21—Lawrence had won the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series-ending East-West Showdown in Salt Lake City three weeks earlier.
