ARGENTINA One month after the great Lionel Messi led Argentina to its first FIFA World Cup win in 36 years, Red Bull KTM’s Kevin Benavides (whom we featured in the March ’23 issue of Racer X) won his second Dakar Rally. And in March, the ’23 FIM Motocross World Championship will kick off with the MXGP of Patagonia-Argentina, the first time since 2019 that the South American country has been on the schedule.
ARENACROSS The postponement of the Oakland Supercross left an open weekend for many SX riders. In stepped the AMA Arenacross Championship, which upped its Friday night purse to $2,500 per Pro Main win. With two mains on Friday, there was $5,000 on the line if a rider could sweep in Prescott, Arizona (full story starting on page 90). Let’s just say it got interesting!
