Wardy/Wilson/Trettel/Taublieb/Ping on DMXS Radio Tonight
November 16, 2011, 1:50pm
Jeff Ward has returned to his motocross roots with the formation of JWR Racing after merging with Mike Kranyak and L&M Racing to contest the 2012 Monster Energy AMA SX Championship and Luca Oil AMA Motocross Championship and beyond. Wardy is a motocross badass and has won multiple titles on a 125, 250, and 500 and represented the USA on seven winning Motocross des Nations teams as part of his storied career. The sport is fortunate to have him back in pits as a team owner and we’ll get the latest on the team’s progress as Anaheim 1 quickly approaches.
Pro Circuit’s Dean Wilson is all rested up since returning from his globetrotting vacation after an incredible year in his young career. Deano is now healthy and back to the preseason grind of testing and will check in after a long day at the test track.
Ian Trettel was severely injured during practice at the Daytona SX and had to be placed into a medically induced coma. The motocross world held its collective breath for the popular young rider as the treatment and healing had to run it’s course. The outpouring of love and support was nothing short of amazing and we’re so happy to welcome him on the show tonight so his fans can hear an update directly from him. We’ve been looking forward to this one for a long time!
In 2003, Mike Neale released the popular road racing film “Faster,” which gave a glimpse into the lesser known world of GP racing. The film focused on the ascent of Valentino Rossi before he was “The Doctor” and the face of the GP’s. Neale has released the much anticipated sequel “Fastest” this month that now highlights Rossi as he goes for his tenth world Championship. We’ll talk with the award-winning producer/filmmaker, Paul Taublieb about this film and the experience of working side-by-side with the elite GP riders while documenting this pivotal year in the sport’s history. Paul wears many hats in action sports and was also a consultant on the creation of the ESPN X-Games and is still involved with the Moto-X competitions. We’ll try to cover as much as we can from his impressive portfolio tonight. You can check out www.fastestthemovie.com for more info or to order your copy.
Racer X’s David Pingree will weigh in on the silly season signings and preview the upcoming supercross series as only he can.
Don’t forget to vote for Ricky Carmichael for the Most Popular Driver of the Year award in the Camping World Truck Series at www.nascar.com/news/110705/2011-mpd-truck/index.html since the voting ends tomorrow. Make sure to vote, and vote often to show our support for the GOAT!
We want to welcome on GoPro cameras as a new show sponsor. The world’s best selling HD wearable camera for sports, including badass motocross. Check them out at www.gopro.com for all your action packed video needs. The HERO2 is now out so update your stash with the latest and greatest camera out there!
DMXS Radio also thanks our wives, Racer X, MX Sports, OGIO, Concept2Rowers, Coach Robb Beams, MotoSport.com, Vurb Moto and Skull Candy for their continued support!
