Hey Ping,
Quick question for you.... What do you think about this new national schedule being on Saturdays? I’m asking because I work in bike shop (and have for about 8 years) and that new Saturday schedule really stinks. There is no way for me, or any of my coworkers, to get to the races this summer. People keep commenting that we are babies and just need to close down for the weekend but a bike shop closing its doors in the summer is like calling a pregnant lady fat...You just don’t do it. Just wonder how you feel being in the mix of the business. Thanks for reading and keep up the awesome work
a national-less 09 summer,
Pete
Dear Pete,
Don’t take this the wrong way, Pete, because I’m sure you are a great guy and super-important within your community and in your own core group of family and friends. But when they put the list together of people to poll for opinions about the schedule change, I don’t think you were towards the top. Riders, sponsors, fans and industry personnel were probably the ones that had the biggest say-so in the move. While I understand that you, and every other dealership employee, are bummed out, let’s hope that the move draws more fans to the races. Besides, there is always a way to make it happen. Ever hear of a sick day? Come on, Pete, put in your vacation days now!

Ping,
What's with the shirtless picture of you at the top right corner of the "Ask Ping" column? I believe it is called an avatar... Anyhoo, every time I see it, I can't help but form a mental picture of you standing in front of a white background, shirtless, while the photog tells you to look just a little further to the left. Creeps me out every time.

ps. I remember you coming to a few races of the Utah-Idaho series back in your kawi days, been a fan ever since. I also ran into you at the vintage race in Boise last year. Keep up the good work on the columns.
Dear Peelout,
You are the first one to notice it. Congratulations. I took that picture while wearing nothing but a pair of my wife’s pumps, a thong and just a little eyeliner. I don’t know what to tell you, man. I worked from home for a long time and my nine to five wardrobe was very eclectic. Occasionally I dressed up. And occasionally it got freaky. I won’t apologize for it. I’ll try to update it with a more professional photo. I don’t think they’re going to let me show up at Troy Lee Designs in leather pants and pasties for casual Friday.

I watched the RV2 championship video a couple weeks ago and have been searching the Internet for one of those Honda stand up Jet Ski. Anyway I know your probably pretty busy with the new job, but could you let me know the model and if it is new to the 09 line-up.
Best of luck with the new job, thanks for the help.
Trevor
Dear Trevor,
That is what you call a 7-time model. In other words, when you have seven supercross titles you get a custom ski that says Honda on it. So, as far as I know, that is the only stand-up Jet Ski made by Honda in the entire world. It does look curiously similar to the Kawasaki model though. You know what’s funny about that? Remember when Jeremy got in trouble for riding a Yamaha Wave Blaster when he rode for Honda in the mid-nineties? Well, it looks like he’s learned his lesson.
