America's fastest growing chain of indoor kart tracks known as Pole Position Raceway is now offering franchises through P2R Karting, Inc. The first franchise is currently under development in Dallas, Texas and is expected to be open at the beginning of 2009. "We have been amazed at the popularity of indoor karting," said Jason Williams, CEO & co-founder of Pole Position Raceway. "We knew that it was a fun sport, but we never expected to experience so much growth so quickly. It's been popular in Europe and now it's really getting to be big in the United States. We have had so many people want to help us expand the Pole Position Raceway brand that we knew it was time to franchise."
"We started in Corona, California in 2005 and never thought we would grow this quickly," said Ken Faught, former editor-in-chief of Dirt Rider and now President & co-founder of the company. "We also have tracks in Murrieta, California, Oklahoma City, Las Vegas and are currently working on our first franchise in Frisco, Texas just outside of Dallas. We have worked really hard to create the most-realistic racing experience possible. We have combined that with state-of-the-art high-performance electric karts that are second to none. Our goal is to have the most-competitive and most-consistent karts in the United States and I believe we have accomplished that goal. The end result are race tracks that allow talent to rise to the top, not getting a special kart." Among those involved with Pole Position Raceway are supercross champs Jeremy McGrath and Chad Reed, along with Grant Langston, Greg Albertyn, Mike Metzger, Kenny Bartram, Kerry Peterson, Jamie Little, Sam Schmidt, Randy Hawkins, Barry Hawk, Dick Burleson, Trevor Vines, Steve Hatch, and NASCAR Champ Kurt Busch.
