The Monster Energy AMA Supercross press release read, "Lawrence Steals Lites Class Points Lead From Dungey....," but I would contend that he has earned it with his third consecutive win. That is indeed some damn good business right there. These two riders could not be more opposite in every way and have achieved their success by traveling different roads, yet sit only two points apart with two races to go. This is just what the West Lites needed to keep the anticipation going during the 31 day break between Houston and the final round in Seattle.
Yamaha’s Josh Hill told his bosses that he wanted to race the 450 and went out and bought his own bike to prove his point. They finally listened and he has made the transition to the big-bike class not long after turning pro. Josh is always a fun interview and we look forward to hearing from him tonight on his season thus far.
San Manuel / Yamaha’s Nathan Ramsey basically retired last year after suffering yet another injury in an already trying season. The likeable Southern transplant wanted to go out on his own terms and decided to come back for another year. Nate Dog has put in some impressive rides and has reminded all those that wrote him off last year that they were a bit premature. Nate will call in after his son’s T-Ball practice with some riding and batting tips for our listeners.
Ryan Hughes was a badass in his day and continues to make himself relevant by evolving along with the sport and training some of its top riders, including YOT’s Jason Lawrence. Ryno is known as one of the toughest trainers out there and his rider’s results often show that. Our good friend will give us a little time tonight and we promise to do sit-ups during the entire interview.
Colleen Millsaps is the matriarch of one of the premier MX boot camps in the world. Millsaps Training Facility, or MTF, continues to work with the top amateur prospects and their success on the track speaks for itself. Colleen will join us to discuss her current crop of riders and the controversy surrounding MTF’s "Scuba Steve" Clarke and Taylor Futrell at Waldo a few weeks ago that was documented on www.Vurbmoto.com. Colleen is passionate about her riders and wanted to set the record straight herself.
Check out the video and make up your own mind as we will have all the players on tonight including Scuba Steve, Taylor, and Vurb’s Wes Williams who shot the video. This should be a great discussion as Lake Whitney and Oak Hill are just a few weeks away.
Honda’s Justin Barcia is mostly known outside amateur circles as the kid on the CRF150R commercial, but we know the whole story. I’m calling it right now.....he will be a superstar in this sport. This kid has so much raw speed and talent that when he moves up it will be scary. He as been injured before Loretta Lynn’s the last two years and has not received much press, but he is the real deal and we can’t wait for MX fans to see what he is capable of. Justin trains at MTF and we wanted our listeners to hear from the young prodigy.
WWR welcomes on RV Ready’s Nick Morgan and Jiri Dostal tonight. Check out www.WonderWarthogRacing.com for the latest auctions and team news. Power to the Privateer!
