It,s not about Reed coming home and cherry picking,

It,s about Reed being there, and our guy,s gaining experience by racing against one of the best

It,s also a chance for the Australian public to see Chad race at home.

The race was held at the Australian Moto GP event and was free to watch for all GP ticket holders, so there was massive possibility for greater exposure.

Kevin Kain. Reminder Reed has been off the bike 8 months... He hasn't quit and just racing oz...... it's called getting ready to race 2013 by testing through racing! NEVER underestimate Reed. Looking forward to seeing your little red symbol and comments in 2013 Kevin.... :-)

Kevinkain your a fool, no the competition isn't strong here in aus, we have 20 million people only, small corporate dollars compared to the US so our comp isn't as strong. The guy has come off very serious injury so why wouldn't he want time in the saddle.
Did you forget Cunningham had a hard time here, we are small but have had a very good record at turning out top racers in all forms of motorsport

Franken Dick - You are a MORON. Reed was the fastest SX & MX guy last year before getting hurt. He will be on of the big 4 to beat between RV, RD & JB (yes Stewart is off the list). Whatever it is you do other than MX or SX stick to it, because you don't know shit about CR 22. He will be dominant in 2013

Profile Picture
motonerd wrote: 6:21pm October 27, 2012

It's awesome what Reed has done for supercross in Australia. Sure he's the fastest guy but racing against better riders makes better riders, and who doesn't want the sport to grow year in and year out.
The guy has been a favorite as long as he's been in the sport so thinking he's just going to fade now is just silly. I for one expect another top 3 championship run if not a 3rd championship.
Go CR!!!

Profile Picture
KevinKain wrote: 6:27pm October 27, 2012

Reed will get smoked by JB, DW, RV, RD and Mike Alessi as well as Trey if he is healthy. Reed was good in his day, but last year was the final year of his greatness. Everybody just got too fast real quick, and JS7 will be out by the 4th round, BELIEVE IT!

Profile Picture
smee113 wrote: 7:21pm October 27, 2012

Reed doesn't have the speed to match Villopoto, but you better believe he's just as fast as Dungey, Barcia, Stewart, and Canard. He's also not as consistent as Dungey, but just as consistent as Villopoto and Barcia, and far more consistent than Stewart and Canard. I don't think Reed will win a title, but you better d*** well believe he'll be in the top 3 by the end of the season.

Btw, I wish other countries would stop whining about how America only wins because we're bigger population wise.

For YEARS on here, hating keyboard losers have written off Reed. Time and again they all go climb back under their rocks. Sure he's not getting any younger but only a complete fool like @KevinKain makes those type of comments about a competitor like CR.

Oh and ask Millsaps & Grant and a few others who have tried just how 'easy' the Aussie SX is. No, it's not the US level, but it's the next best in the world and underestimated.

Can never write Reed off! He was hauling the mail before getting hurt. Way faster than anyone else not called RV. I hope he gets into that form. As far as RV goes, I think he's sand bagging in premier class!!! He should ride something else. Lol
on a serious note, any of top 10 guys are amazing athletes and helluva riders. Looking at some of the keyboard cowboys here with their comments is amazing. Yeah, some people here are amazing keyboard cowboys! Lol

Reed holeshot and won by 2 seconds on a track that was 30 seconds long, Reed also got beat straight up by Tye Simmonds in the heats. Make no mistake Barcia and co would have lapped this field, Reed included

Profile Picture
one1one wrote: 10:31pm October 27, 2012

Yes Chad won, it was by a relatively small margin over Jay Marmont.
The track built for MotoGP was tiny with 37 second lap times.
It was more like an Arenacross than a US SX track.
The next two rounds will be more traditional SX.
BTW, Gavin Faith is the real deal, he filled in for Hahn at Geico last year for West SX rounds and held his own for a rookie fill in rider. He even did a pretty good job at JGR after JS7 walked when he filled in there for a couple rounds.
If the Motoconcepts stories are true for him for '13 he will take the next step towards the front.

Most pathetic supercross I've ever been to, no stands or seats, just 1 dirt bank covered in woodchip for spectators to try and cram in. Most ppl wandered from gp track, couldn't see anything n wandered off again.

@nsp1, didn't look like an air fork, don't think chad would risk it after the seal failures they starting to have.

@badboy where exactly are you getting your information from about seal failures? they have been testing a long time with those forks if they seen a problem with them I can assure you factory honda, suzuki, and kawasaki would not have opted to run them this year. its just like the fuel injection everybody went online who didnt have it spreading rumors but look at it now its the norm and it isnt going back and they are saying the same thing about air forks they are here to stay so please post your source or stop spreading rumors

Profile Picture

jeramey ,suzuki is not running air forks and the kawi is not a true air fork it has a spring in the cartridge .you might want to look inside before you state facts.

you may want to check your facts they are running the showa sff which contains air the 2013 suzuki comes stock with them and both justin barcia and ryan villopoto were running them at MEC broc tickle ran them all year this year, while reed may not have liked them initially its not because of any failures just him sticking to what he is comfortable with but It says alot that last year monster kawasaki ran works kyb and this year they are running the works showa which just so happen to be the showa SFF air forks so if you would like to play trivia and try and call people out I'll be more than happy to play along

thats air oil seperated and has a spring in one fork for comp the other is fork is rebound ssf has ben on the 250kxf for a coulpe years again not a true air fork like the kyb that honda is running .trust your stickers. i look at the internals . in stock form the air fork is junk it needs work!

Was great to have Reed come over and race! He draws a big crowd and improves the level of our racing.

The level of competition isn't as high as the USA, big deal, he's out having fun and racing. I do recall Marmont, who came 2nd, beating Canard at MXoN until Canard landed on him... So the level isn't quite as bad as you may think.

Frankenweenie, I never comment on here but you are a loser. Nobody cares what number you are or what event you are racing, if you were any good you wouldn't have to tell us and we would actually know who you are. Further to this I agree that your english does indeed suck! Even after being owned about it you forgot an o in too.

Profile Picture
_badboy wrote: 6:43am October 29, 2012

@ jeramey
Dont take my or anyones word, try it for yourself. tap a pressure gauge into the air fitting, inflate to max recommended operating pressure +1.5/2 psi for heat expansion, put fork in a press and compress it (the pressure rise will raise your eyebrows). If the seal lip does not blow out (it can happen, remember it is the exact same seal as a nonair fork but under greater pressure, and anyone who says they never leak smokes too much crack), place a feeler gauge under the seal lip to simulate a seal leak.

Then disassemble the fork and compare the internals to parts used by KYB in both closed/open catridge forks for the last 10 years :) not a hell of a lot of new stuff in there.

Most works forks and the WP forks on Katos use a bladder or piston (depending on design), so the fork will not collapse if the seal leaks.

Remember if 1 seal leaks the other fork will have twice the load, if you slam into a takeoff ramp and that blows out, well it aint gonna be pretty.

But it wont be a big drama, a kit will be avail soon to convert to basicly an SFF fork, with a cartridge in 1 leg and the spring in the other.
