that's so funny
factory comes across as totally honest and unbiased!! unlike the other 2 vids so far?
Unbelieveable! That didn't help me decide which is best. Guess I would go with the Suzuki just because it handles so unbelievably well.
coming from a die hard honda guy having ridden the 12 rmz and the 13 kx the only bike I would even remotely consider switching to is the rmz its nice started to feel comfortable after 2 laps, but im the proud owner of the last place 2013 crf450r and these guys can suck on my family jewels if they dont like my bike haha
Even as a die hard Suzuki rider, I need to say that the current generation RM-Z450s are way too heavy. They don't feel heavy when you're moving, but they are heavier than any other 450. The 2014 bike should be all new, and I hope weight savings is high on Suzuki's priority list.
c'mon jer ............ your biased blindness has you living in twisted perception of reality. you honda die hards , the crf450r has been sucking hind tit since '09 ! and dats the facts b............... haha
people act like they could throw the 2008 crf450r up against all these 13 bikes and it would do better..... no it was just the better of the bikes that year no way would it win if nothing had changed I like hondas for a lot of reasons one major one is they are simple to work on there is nothing to it hell you cant even adjust the sag on a kx without dropping the sub frame what kind of crap is that?
I had an 06 and an 07, In 07 it also won the shootout but hands down the 2013 is better I would never go back
@mx40 hopefully its not "all new" people dont seem to like "all new" bikes honda gets ass raped everytime they put out an "all new" bike
@jeramey - That's true, sometimes they can throw the baby out with the bath water. I generally dislike anything the first year it's out. The 2008 RM-Z450 is a perfect example. Between the cases cracking and the kinda sluggish power, it wasn't quite ready for prime time. Fast forward a few years and now a lot of people like it. Truthfully, I sometimes wish the next generation RM-Z450 won't be as good as the current ones. Simply because I won't be able to stop myself from buying one if it's better.
@mx40 yeah I hear you, I just felt I was in the stone age still being carburated I liked to body style of the 09-12 crfs but did not like the negative reviews, but like everyone has said all that matters is what you like. Teir reviews are on a stock bike and most of us wont leave our bike stock anyways. And not to mention the first two guys complaint was on the power of the engine when I'll be the first to admit that I will never be able to use all the power of a 450 I started way to late In life and have bills to pay
@ jeramey - I've always believed that people should ride whatever bike they want to. Whether they decide by looks, color or whatever is up to them. Good handling has always been what I've looked for in a bike, not power. Just as you said, a slow 450 isn't really that slow. Getting more power is pretty easy, but better handling can be difficult to obtain. Most of us don't make any money racing. Quite the opposite, actually. So the idea of buying a bike simply because it is rated the best is kind of silly to me.
All of these bikes look fun. Hard to pick. I Loved my 07 CRF450 but I sold it and that was the last 4 stroke I'm gonna buy for a while. Been having too much fun on my 2 stroke. BTW Chaney Ranch is a good time.
When you review a product you need to be willing to level some criticism. I think he was too politically correct about all of them. He ranked them, but then said good things about them all. I didn't hear anything definitive. He said the Yamaha is a "great bike", but it finished last? Of course he said every bike was a great bike.
Jeramey I pumped a couple bucks in the ol 2008 crf 450 and I can't be any happier. The forks are harsh but factory connection fixed that, the motor is stock no pipe and its ferggin awsome!!!! I remember the first day I rode that bike she was saaweeet!! But years of riding definitely slows down frames suspension , it's the way she goes. I guess I will keep the old 2008 for another year until Honda makes something unbeatable like the 2008 crf 45ooooohhhh!!!!
I'm not even gonna lie I am a die hard Honda guy and I'm sad. For one year of riding I may as well buy a Suzuki!!
Time to completely pimp the 08 450 honda!! Most power I've ever felt!!!!besides a 500 two smoke! !!
not a fan of 4bangers.....ridden loads...different yrs different makes 250 450...and i just dont get on with them....
2013 im going old skool!!!! i still have my 1995 cr250 iv had it from new and only raced it for 2 seasons...im gona strip it rebuild it fresh everything....had upset the boys with the new bikes and no skill!!!
2 smoke all the dam way!!!!!
I have the 13' 450 SXF and there is nothing else out there like it. Incredible.
so tell me was any bike Unbelieveable???
At the end of the day....non of us weekend warriors are going to go any faster or slower on any of these bikes. I went against the advise of the shootout opinions and bought a 12 CRF 450. I've never had problems with the clutch and love the suspension. I added a Magura Hydraulic lever, but other then that, she's stock. I like Honda, so I bought another one.....and still have my 00 and 01 CR250 smokers! For 13, I'm adding a CRF 250 to the collection and we'll see if I'm any faster on that!! I love reading the comments...keep them coming!
totally agree freefaller35....once iv set up my old 95 cr250 it will do just find...
