I thought Carmichael’s lengthy comments about “you gotta be in it to win it” were interesting and true. I also thought he was answering some of the critics about Stewart always being out injured while he was winning Titles at the end of his career. His comments were spot on and in the span of a 17 race SX season and 12 race MX season, staying off the ground is probably the most important factor for a championship.

BillC wrote: 2:05pm September 10, 2012

Yes JonR290 but RC also used the "IF" word, I don't know how you talk about how things have gone for RD without the "IF" word coming up even from RC!!

MX Bob wrote: 2:48pm September 10, 2012

So when RV retires, every champion after that will have an asterisk? Give it up already.

Profile Picture
JonR290 wrote: 2:54pm September 10, 2012

@BillC, I believe RC was slamming the people that use the “if” word when someone goes out. RC said it shows a lack of understanding in what is required to win a championship. RC was essentially saying he understood it and so does Dungey. RC specifically said the only people using the “if” word are the people whose favorite guy went out on a stretcher so they disrespect the guy winning.

Racer X you need to start posting results from the WORCs Races, If you can post results from British MX, GNCC, RedBull Nationals and Endurcross, its the least that you can do.

Just because its an American race series but not AMA, doesn't mean you can't cover it!!!!

Wait till Mitch Payton brings on Taylor Roberts to MX next year, people are gonna wonder where this kid came from.

not sure, cuz RC said "if" then said I don't like to use the "if" word I believe.

That really is a narrow scope, RD beat RV 2010 SX, RV just happened to CRASH and tear up his leg, 2011 SX mechanical failure caused him loss of points, RV barely won title, 2011 MX RD mechanical failure while LEADING with one lap to go cost 25 points, RD 2011 MX Mechanical, bike showed up 100 seconds after gate drop he managed to come back to 9th. I think RV is LUCKY considering he won title by 5 points or something.
RD Beat RV before either got hurt in 2012 SX, The pedestrian crash tearing another ACL for RV, shows how fragile he is.

Profile Picture
Not4show wrote: 4:05pm September 10, 2012

Only reason RV has any big bike titles is because RDs bike failed in 2011 SX/MX, and that RD got hurt and missed a couple rounds in 2012 SX.........wait isn't that what everyone says about the only reason RD has any titles, well besides the bike failed part?

Profile Picture
xxmotocrossxx wrote: 4:47pm September 10, 2012

all i can say is just wait for the monster million when RV comes back, he will destroy RD , RV is healthy and riding agian and will wreck RD

Because Dungey has never Beat RV straight up in a race ever...........right.......

RD finished 2nd on a bike that was 2 weeks old, As in no one ever had ridden the bike before and they didn't even know if they were going to keep it for 2012. So I got my money RD will win 1, RV 1, Tomac 1. Barcia crashes out and goes crying to Honda.

Reed cant beat RV? What about when he lead the points for a good chunk of the nationals and did not end up that far back after a few bad results. He also gave RV a run for his money in SX before he crashed and got hurt.

BillC and xxmotocrossxx: How bout this "IF": "IF" RD wasn't smarter than RV and JS, he would crash on days when he isn't the fastest and can't accept a second or third. . And "IF" that happened then he wouldn't win so many championships while they sit on their butts saying "If, if, if,,,"

Hey if a freakin frog had freakin wings....!!!!!

Guys you just watch what happens next year. The Dunge will have the same bike while riding for the same team for the first time in the 450 class. In 2010 he was a rookie riding a 450 for the first time. In 2011 he was on a brand new team that screwed up every 2 or 3 races while riding a bike that was clearly inferior to the bike Kawi supplied RV. In 2012 he is riding a brand new, untested bike on a new team again. He has had no stability in his 3 years yet has won several championships. He is getting really comfortable on that KTM now and loves his team. And he's 22 years old so get used seeing that KTM winning!!!!

The big boys are out because they ride there heart out and show no fear they don't hold back and that sometimes means that they crash but when they are healthy they win and win again

No rcrddw that Ktm won't win just look at Stewart when he was with Kawasaki what happend he won and won.. Now when he left were is he at now. Ktm isn't doing anything for dungie the only reason he is winning now is because Ryan villopoto is out. If Ryan was riding he would have won the nationals

Congrats to KTM on a(nother) Championship year.

As for all the "RD blah blah, except...." nonsense, Charlie Sheen called and said to check the scoreboard.

There won't be a gate dropped with out "whomever" having to consider and contend with Ryan Dungey..........that is all.
