seriously? what, besides winning a few races has Barcia done. He shouldnt even be compared to "The Jammer" Appareantly championships dont matter. Ridiculous.....
I suspect most of the voters in these polls were not alive when Weinert was racing. They never saw him and many have probably never heard of him.
What a Joke, just shows motocross knowledge is lacking, all kids voting for sure!
Really? Barcia? How can a kid who was born in NJ, lived in NY for a VERY short time (no one here remembers him racing here) then moved to Georgia (where he currently lives) be considered the fastest rider in NY?
Are you kidding me? Barcia! Sorry punks... the "Jammer" would have eaten Barcia for breakfast then would make up a cool song about it and sang it on the starting line of the next moto. Some of you people need to look past today's flavor.
Barica? Not taking anything away from him... but this is where too many young kids are voting and no NOTHING about the history of motocross. Weinert, Higgins, and the Stacey brothers have done more in the sport of motocross that Barica has ever had.
Crf1796... You must not know a lot about the history of motocross to make a comment like that.
Barcia?! seriously we need to get some better voters on here... I understand he is the most current name but he hasn't come close to proving himself as the best from that list yet! Especially over the Jammer!
Crf1796.....what a moron, why don't you do a little research before you open your mouth? Jimmy Weinert Inducted to the Motorcycle Museum's Hall of Fame in 1999 1974, 1975 AMA Motocross Champion 1976 AMA Supercross Champion.Weinert won a total of 22 AMA nationals races and three AMA championships during his 11-year professional racing career.
I admit that I'm not old enough to have ever seen Weinert race, but I'm not ignorant enough to be blind to the legends of the sport that I love......guess sometimes ignornace is bliss, or does it just make you look dumb?
Jammer we know your NUMBER 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is not right first off Richy ****s was way faster than a few on this list he had a factory Honda Ride when things where real stacked in that class second Pat Maroney was way faster then most of these guys also I understand people voted but its still not right
Boo, Pat Morony should have been on this list
Barcia has a chance to do good things in the sport, but ... come on. No comparison to Weinert. Crf1796, reading old magazines from AFTER the Jammer raced didn't seem to educate you too well. For a state that's covered by snow for so much of the year, we've had some good riders!
No Thomas Rice? No Pat Moroney? No John Gurga? I call foul on whichever RX staffer put this list together. How none of these 3 made it on and Nicoleeti did is beyond me. Instead of publishing the results, why not repoll? Way to mail it in! Jammer not finishing #1 nullifies the poll as well. His credentials speak for themself. Barcia has big time potential, but has a long way to go before being inside the top 5.
Obviously, it was a popularity contest for the historically challenged, SCIENCE.
Maroney! The Jammer! Barcia! (After a few years)
