Bob Hannah Wine
That year Hannah, who had already won his fourth of six AMA National Championships in motocross and supercross, would then become the first American rider to win the prestigious Trans-AMA series after ten years of European domination. This special bottling of 2006 Napa Valley Merlot commemorates the achievements of this true American Champion and has been appropriately named ‘Hurricane’ Merlot.
An intensely layered fruit driven wine, it is dominated by tones of currant, blackberry and chocolate. The wine was aged in French oak barrels for 20 months then bottled at the Sonoma Valley based winery in July. Only 900 (nine hundred) bottles were produced and a portion of the sales benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund a cause close to the hearts of the Hannah family. The winery also announces a Second Release of the ‘Bad Brad Cab Blend’ commemorating the 25th anniversary of Lackey’s 500cc World Championship in 1982. Like the “Hurricane” Merlot, only 900 bottles were produced and a portion of the sales will benefit High Hopes Head Injury Center. Visit www.highhopes.ws to learn more.
"I'm stoked that the Highway 12 guys wanted to celebrate my '82 World Championship with this special bottling", Lackey commented. "It's a fun way for the whole motocross community to enjoy how far the sport has progressed since Bob and I claimed victory back in the day.”
Both wines retail for $32 a bottle plus tax and shipping and are available direct from the winery via their on line store or by phone.
