Formula 1 racing has been exploding in popularity in the States, driven by the popularity of the Netflix series Formula 1: Drive to Survive. This series gives an all-access look at the day-to-day routines and behind-the-scenes drama of what it takes to be a top-tier racing program. Are there any plans in the works to do this for motocross/supercross? I would love to see what goes on behind closed doors in our sport.

Good idea, Jason. It’s a familiar idea—search out The Reality of Speed programs on YouTube from the mid-’00s based around Michael Holigan’s Texas-based Samsung Mobile supercross team, which in hindsight was way ahead of its time. I know a lot of people are working at trying to produce a similar type of programming around SX/MX as well as the new SuperMotocross World Championship. It’s just difficult to find the budget to produce something as slick as Drive to Survive. In the meantime, teams like the Muc-Off/FXR Club MX Yamaha team have been using their YouTube channel to go behind the scenes before and after races, and the Deegans already have built a big audience on YouTube as well.
