Great story in “Reason for Being” in the January ’25 issue (about local race photographers). I have so much respect for the OG photographers who shot on film and couldn’t look at the LCD screen to see if they got it right. I spent many days on the infield at Raceway Park with Thom Veety, staying out of each other’s way to get the shot. I’ll go out on a limb and say anyone who raced at Raceway Park stopped by the Action Photos trailer in the morning to see if Thom had any photos of themselves. I know I did, and I have albums of photos he took.
Holding a print is not the same as looking at a screen, but I’m trying to keep that feeling alive when I post my weekend photos. Thank you to all the original moto photographers out there.
