Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: legendary veteran retires, young whippersnapper takes up the mantle and carries on. That scenario plays out year after year in every sport, including dirt bike racing. However, it raises eyebrows when an unusual number of young whippersnappers come out of a region not normally known for producing top talent (at least not recently). The recent emergence of ultra-fast off-road riders from the New England area has some people wondering if there’s something in the water.
