Yamaha. It was also their
one and only together.
Two thousand and seven was something of a transitional year for American motocross. The changeover from two-strokes to four-strokes was almost complete. It was the last year that all of the outdoor nationals were held on Sundays. It was the first time in twenty years that the U.S. would host the FIM Motocross of Nations. And Ricky Carmichael, the greatest of all time, was calling it quits, opening the door for someone to step into the huge shoes that the 15-time SX/MX champion would soon leave behind.
