Reason For Being
When the checkered flag fell on the last moto of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, it came with a big sigh of relief from many on the infield and out on the racetrack. This was no easy season for anyone, given the ongoing pandemic and all the uncertainties that have come with it. Unlike 2020, when we had an abbreviated series of nine races that skipped some of the most iconic and popular tracks—Hangtown, Unadilla, High Point, Washougal, Southwick, and Budds Creek—this time around we got back to all of those venues, and the crowds came out in droves. We also saw great racing throughout the summer, with two fitting champions crowned at the end: Monster Energy/Star Yamaha Racing’s Dylan Ferrandis and Team Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence.
