IN EARLY AUTUMN 1998, Greg Fox called 20 managers and salespersons into a conference room at Fox Racing headquarters in Morgan Hill, California. At one end of an oblong table, a projection screen covered the wall. Greg wanted feedback on the company’s next big video project, Frezno Smooth, a movie presented by Shift, Fox Racing’s edgy little brother. The 90-minute feature film is best summed up in IMDB’s synopsis: “When a corrupt judge wrongfully bans motocross legend Seth Enslow from entering an upcoming free ride contest, Fresno explodes into a chaotic spree of riots, parties and white trash insanity.”
