Track Layout for the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Features Outdoor Start

AURORA, Ill. – For the first time in Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open history the track’s starting gate will be located outside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena. After the gate drops, the riders speed into the arena and jockey for position before jumping into the whoop section of the course.

Inside the arena, six tight and technical lanes will challenge riders for the lion’s share of $100,000 that will be paid to the winner of the two-night race. One of the most unique features of the track is the gigantic finish-line jump, which will stretch over 70 feet.

“For the first time ever, the starting gate will be located outside the MGM Grand Garden Arena,” said Dave Prater, director of supercross, Feld Entertainment Motor Sports. “The absence of the gate inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena will allow for additional track lanes and additional obstacles on the arena floor. The start will be similar to that of the Vegas supercross finals. The anticipation of the entire lineup blasting into the arena together will be intense.”

Tickets are now available for the 10th anniversary of the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas October 10-12, 2008 at www.ussx.com, www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 702-474-4000 or the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office. Regarded as one of off-road motorcycling’s premier races, the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open is the final ‘major’ race of the motocross season. Tickets are available for as low as $20 through Ticketmaster.com. All tickets subject to 5% Las Vegas Entertainment tax.
