Ken Roczen Update
December 19, 2013, 8:45pm
Red Bull KTM's Ken Roczen crashed on Tuesday while practicing in Florida and hurt his arm. The 2013 West Region 250 SX Champion saw a doctor in Florida and there was concern that he might have fractured his humerus (upper arm). That's the bad news. The good news is that after flying out to California on Wednesday, Roczen got a second opinion and the prognosis is much more optimistic: that it's not as bad as feared and he could be back on the bike by the first of the year, which means he could still make the starting gate at Anaheim and the start of the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, on January 4. Ken will continue training and see how he feels next week.
In an interview by Jordan Labbe of the French magazine Moto Verte, DeCoster confirmed the crash and added (translated from French), "We cannot say too much about the severity of his injury to the time, it (could) be a crack in the arm… but we must wait for more. Anaheim 1 may be compromised for him."
In even better news, Roczen just posted a picture on his Instragram @kenroczen94 with the caption: "guy's relax. no broken arm. see u at A1."
