Suzuki Offers $4.8 Million in Contingency

Friday, March 8, 2013 | 9:15 AM
BREA, Calif. - American Suzuki is pleased to announce it will be offering $4.8 million in contingency support, covering numerous road racing and motocross series across the contiguous United States. (motocross contingency will offer over $3.7 million, while roadracing will receive over $1 million in support).

Spending this contingency money is simple; when racers earn money with the Suzuki Contingency program they will receive Suzuki Contingency Awards Cards. Money will be added to these cards throughout the year as they compete and win races. Amateur and professional riders can spend their money at any authorized U.S. Suzuki dealership.

The 2013 Suzuki Contingency registration is now active and will be available thru 10/31/2013. A new registration is required each year.

Road Racing contingency information can be found at: http://www.suzukicycles.com/Racing/Road Racing/Contingency.aspx

Motocross contingency information can be found at: http://www.suzukicycles.com/Racing/Motocross/Contingency.aspx

It was NOT JUST the automotive dviision, it was AMERICA SUZUKI as an entire entitity, bankruptcy allowed them to sell the motosport division to someone else. It is why they could not announce 2013 contingency until now, when that sale got approved by the bankruptcy court. Now they also may be able to back Milsaps with factory stuff now that hands have been untied.

I have a friend who bought a brand new RMZ 250 because they gave it to him without a down payment with 5 years interest free to pay it off! And now with the contingency program.....It seems that Suzuki is trying to do right by their customers.
@UPSMAN16...I understand "Slap to their creditors they can't pay"...but the rest of your post needs deciphering!

Not4show, it was just the automotive division of American Suzuki Motor Corporation, which has three branches: MC, Auto and Marine.

This is why this country is in financial trouble! Large corporations and people like the Donald Trumps of the world are allowed to just walk away from Billions of dollars of dept that we the working people have to pay for. And to make matters worse American Suzuki will brag about being able to pay out 4.8 million dollars. For the life of me I can not figure out why corporations, businesses etc are allowed to go bankrupt with out at least having to pay back the principal, even in they have to make payments for the rest of there life's. Shame on American Suzuki for dumping their dept on the American public!

Sorry for the political post it's not my style but this stuff chaps my hide!

Sorry. Run just like our own government. 1 company different divisions some good some bad, but is all American Suzuki, shame on them. You should not brag and give 5 mil away when you owe so much to others. What a joke. Buy a CRF

$4.8million is great for us amateurs, 0 dollars for a.m.a. pros in supercross and moto-cross is unacceptable in my opinion!

mit12.upsman16 I'm sure theres more to what happened than your incredible knowledge of corporate law and finance might allow..do they owe YOU money..then give it a rest..you have ZERO idea of whos getting paid and the hows and whys of the particulars........speedshi*ter any truth to the rumor that your face looks like 2 butt cheeks with a brown stinky log endlessly coming out. Only on this site would something really good happen for REAL racers and everyone starts to whine about it.....and then relate it to politics and race....what a complete a*shole. @imn2moto try reading the article before you start bitc*ing...all the words even the ones that say "amateur AND professionals"

@tonwall. Because you are so smart why don't explaine what happens to the dept that American Suzuki went bankrupt on? Let's see if you are mature enough to put it to words without using profanity.
