Thats a hard one, Canard has been up front EVER race but at the same time if JS gets a good start he could win anytime. reed is looking much better..... But if RV start's near the front anyone will have a hard time winning anyway!!

Bill C, I agree, RV gets the starts there will be no new winners.
Oh come on you you guys.. You know just as well as I do that RV is capable of grenading at any time.. Winning or not... But, make no mistake, he is the fastest guy out there...
mxmof1 ANYONE can grenade at anytime. I think the last 2 years have proved that!! Hell RD got lucky more than once this year already and he has been on the ground more than JS this year so far!!
@mxmofo1,, Yep, I am fully aware of that.. @McMoto made it sound like RV is Mr. Consistant if he gets a good start, and thats just not the case.. RV has been on the ground more than JS and RD so far this year.

Canard is the king crasher, I'd say if anyone grenades it's him.
He believes that GOD is on his side, that GOD is pullin for him (not his competitors): this over-confidence is ripe for a bubble burst.
He has never said God is pulling for him.
mxmofo1 actuly I think RD has been on the ground more than RV this year. or maybe a tie. I only rememeber 3 for RV and 3 for RD... someone help us out here.
@BillC, do you really believe Stewart can win if he gets a start??? I dont, I have seen Stewart start in 8th or 9th and get podiums with Reed and Dungey and RV on the track.. Stewart is not the same, whether its age, injury or whatever, I dont see it.. I have seen him crash and make top 5 easy, not anymore.. I see Canard getting a win if RV starts 4th or worse on a track that agrees with Canard.. Reed maybe, but not so sure yet, I'm sure Reed will get it, he is a real pro with preperation..
For the record, RD5 has been on the ground 2 more times than RV1 this season so far and nobody is saying Dungey is grenading. Lets be honest, running at RV1's speed and dipping into the 52's is downright amazing and risky for ANY rider. I think the whole "grenading" quote is weak and should go away or should be applied to novices.
I'll put my money on Trey as the (when, who knows) next winner.

@localexpert,,, hmmmm,, you dont think Reed "grenaded" last year when he crashed? You dont think JS has "grenaded" numorous times in the last two or three years? For the record, crashing is not grenading. Grenading, in my opinion is crashing out of the championship....

localexpert- you are correct RD has gone don more than RV- lets hope they both stay up from here on out.
Canard is a religious guy and thats his choice- I'm not and thats mine. While some wish he wasn't so out front with it - he is harming none of us. I don't belive he has ever said God was pulling for him - what I think he does is simply thank God for his safety. Canard is a good man.
I'm going longshot with RD as the next new winner. All it takes for the few elite guys is some comfort on a track they like, a start in the main and any of them can put a win together. I'm not giving up on RD yet, if we listened to most preseason opinions/predictions he wouldn't have won anything the past few years!

If you watch Revival41, the whole overtone is based on God pullin for him. He indicated in many different ways with many different cliches that God created him to race a dirt bike. Everything he said revolved around himself and God choosing him, as if God forgot about all other riders. He talked about the confidence God's blessed him with... and on and on like a narcissistic lead singer.
Of course Trey's not hurting anyone directly, but the beliefs he perpetuates are part of the extreme evangelical world, which hurts many people. These are the same beliefs the guards of Abu Graib espoused. Trey tweets the same verses they had posted on the walls. The same verses that people who kill abortion doctors use. The same verses that get homosexuals beat up, and the same verses that are used to manipulate children into having sex with clergy. Yes, kids have been raped under the same guise that Trey uses for his confidence, the same God he thanks on the podium.
@BillC - Ryan Dungey? Lucky? We are talking about the guy whose DNF'd a race because of a derailed chain, has run out of gas TWICE, missed a start due an bike issue, and had to finish two races in a row jammed in second gear because of a broken shifter? I don't think his results are lucky, and even if they were it's only because his luck owes him for the crap it's put him through the last couple of years.
therealmofo Yes I do, He has shown the speed to stay up there if he gets there so i don't see why he can't do it with a start.

.JS has been a lot faster than Reed so far this year, Reed did look WAY better this past weekend but still not near RV or even TC. I do agree he will get faster every week but how big the gains are will determin when he can win without some help.
@TripCarlyle - Spare us your militant athiesm. I'm an atheist but I don't force my views on others. If Trey wants to thank the God he believes him, let him. And if you disagree with that then you are opposing freedom of speech. Don't forget that freedom of speech is what allowed Athiests to speak against religion in a very superstitous age. Also, just because people have abused the Bible to justify bullying and child abbuse does not mean that the Bible condones it. In fact, I've actually read it and it sets a very high moral standard that I find very commendable. As for abortion, that is an issue that is wrong on both a religious and scientific level since a fetus is gentically identical to a human, therefore making it human. So I find it funny that in trying to show the "evils" of religion you've only revealed that you are a close-minded bigot.

smee113 I ment with some of the crashes he has had this year, He could have easilt been injured and done for the season. Thats all I ment. He had one crash that was very ugly looking for sure and I feel he was lucky to not been hurt.
PS the second time he did not run out of gas he stop to fill up because of a self inflicked gas loss.

@BillC - Which crash was the ugly one? They've all looked pretty mellow to me, but can only remember two at the moment. As for the running out of gas, I didn't know that since I didn't get to see that race and only knew what I read. After RV's lame season-ending crash last year proved how easy it is to get hurt, I guess anyone's lucky to walk away from a crash, so I see your point there. Villopoto did not look comfortable the first two races so I don't hold those results against him, but we're too early in the season to say that he's going to run away with the whole thing. As for Stewart, no way he wins with that torn ACL.
No Milsaps? Harsh... what does a guy have to do to earn some respect. If Stewart can't step up like say RV2 from an average start, guy best follow Windham into retirement. RV2 for the win, ginga's a BOSS.

.I don't think RV will run away with it either, But then again if he can get some holeshots I don't know who will pass him so with good starts he could reel of 3 or 4 even more in a row and I would not be shocked. Also I would not be shocked to see him gat a bad start and get a 10th. The class is DEEEEEEEEEP this year. I feel his is the best but that is not always enough.
PS RD's gas stop was at Southwick. I saw the crash live!!! another time he got a little lucky cuz he went down hard!!

Anyway, Trey's a fascinating character, and to watch him mould spirituality into race confidence is very interesting. I love his aggressive style. I love watching him ride, and I love analyzing the mental gymnastics he uses to better himself, his career, and the sport as a whole.

I too picked Mr. Canard. Second choice will be Mr. Reed. If Bubba weren't hurt, I'd give it to him. Start or no start, riding with no stability in the knee is going to wear a guy down. I'm assuming the poll question, though it didn't state it specifically, was looking for a "first time this season" winner. It's hard not to pick RV who, for the record, I predicted at the beginning of this year on this very board would win the title. I'd love to see Davi win or finish in the top three again and be the first (?) SX rider ever to win a title with only one win but a butt-load of podiums as well. Can't happen? Ask road racing's Ben Bostrom...

How do I know what's morally right? I don't. I don't believe we can know for sure, hence me being a skeptic. I see the frustration with someone who claims to KNOW, and that's exactly what frustrates me about evangelicalism.
My vote is for Dungey because all of the people predicting against him will look foolish........also, we need his brand in the winners circle to justify this being the best year of racing with the most parity........then the only thing left would be getting one of the Yamahas in victory lane..........Ha!
Mr. Canard recently helped with the baptism of a friend's son and fellow racer via the PanicRev ministries so, there is some food for thought.
I would put my $ on TC, simply because he's been up front challenging more than the others since A1 and was there on lap 19 already. Who are the 2.5% of the guys that are voting for 'OTHER'? The only past race winners that aren't listed above are Short and Grant, who have won 1 each with a bit of help from carnage and a depleted field. Curious who they're thinking will beat RV, JB51, TC, DM, CR, RD and JS all on the same night?

I think that it's funny that people are so offended by anyone mentioning their beliefs that they feel the need to write hundreds of words about their own beliefs. If you don't want to hear someone's beliefs, why would anyone want to hear about yours? This a motocross site. You can go to any news site and debate religion vs atheism vs jinxes vs karma vs why can't we all coexist. People already believe what they are going to believe, so its all a waste of time.
Oh and RV is going to run the table, so this poll is moot.

Love this season so far, but was wondering if anyone out there thinks the announcers are just the worst this year...they don't know who is in the lead, they confuse the numbers and they just seem to be confused! maybe SPEED should get the women in the booth, or they need to learn their JOB! If that confusion EVER happened in horse racing, those boys would be out on their paychecks.
PS wish Ricky could buy some clothes that fit for a change....He looks smaller because his jacket looks like he is wearing his Dad's clothes I do love his commentary though. Having ridden, I totally love his commentary, just not the jacket.

Canard is the obvious choice. All the talk of RV "grenading" though. Everyone is pulling out their green#1 voodoo dolls and throwing them onto the ground now come race time, but sitting around hoping that will be the case? As others said, they all have that possibility. You have to consider everyone staying up though and judging it on their talent and speed. I'm a little bummed that it looks like the idea of unpredictable results flew out the window Saturday night as much as people want to cling to the possibilities. RV, Canard, Barcia should find the podium with regularity most of the time. Might even be 1-2-3 in the above order a lot. Then again, maybe Barcia is the guy to challenge, but he had his "grenade" already. RV also had his "grenade" already at A1. RV looked like a decent National Pro coming home and racing the local races the other night. The only hope is that he just loved the track and won't be that good on some of the upcoming courses. Otherwise, those voodoo dolls will be needed.
