Best show on Tv !
Is there anywhere else I can see this besides Fuel TV?
Yeah, we don't get Fuel TV in Canada, so are you guys going to post them like last year?
Wish Fuel TV would enter the world of High Definition TV.
Yeah, high def would be nice but I get to watch bike racing of some sort every week which is a whole lot than back in the day when we got to see Wide World of Sports US500GP sometime in January / black & white.
Yeah, I don't get FuelTV in HD either. It annoys me, but I still tune in.
I wish ATT U-VERSE would carry Fuel in HD as well but I'll still be tuning in for all the glory in fuzzy 480

Great 1st episode. Really compelling stories, esp the Josh Grant situation. Very sad. Grant may be very motivated this year at JGR.
no one ever said it was a cheap sport and no one ever said it was easy......i wish these guys the best of luck.......
I watch that episode and can only think, why the early 20's riders think they need such nice homes. I swear the goal for some of these riders is to buy a stucco house in a overpriced neighborhood, and ride around with a dirtbike in the back of the new pickup. If they only bought land, and then put a trailer and a track on it and invested a little in themselves.
Direct TV has fuel in HD. As far as the show goes, it is the best show ever!
@pizza corner
Good point. On the other hand, they got plenty of tracks to go riding, then there are factory test tracks
@Pizza Corner
Excellent point. I was thinking the same while i was watching this. If you are one of the "Unknown" (Riders who do not know whether or not they will have a ride each year), buy within your means. That is honestly what is wrong with American's in general ( I am American); we do not buy what we can afford comfortably. If i was in there boat i would try and make sure that anything that i bought would be pretty much paid off. Even if that meant investing in land and buying a trailer at first just to get me by
O yea that part with Josh Grant was horrible... If you cant trust your Parents then who can you trust. It goes to show you that when it comes to money you cant trust anybody...
When I was Grants age with our first kid we were living in a trailer, I was working 18 hrs a day, and sold my bike to pay bills. I dont feel sorry for him. It builds character. He needs it.
Great episode, great show.
The above post regarding the Mcmansions and trailers are ironic.
All I could think of watching this episode last night was "Do you think Hannah or Barnett done it this way"?

Man you are so right. I know it's only the top few, but some of these guys make some real good money at that level, more than I can hope to make anyway..you would think they would be aware of how short their lifespan and earning power can be in that sport and invest their money wisely.
Great first episode........I see the same shit play out at our local tracks with young riders, their parent push and push and push thinking there the next RD, RV or JS when in reality there chances are 99.9999% that they will not even come close, but their parents are living THEIR DREAMS through their kids, Ashley said it perfectly, what other sport is there were you have to "Drop out of School" in order to be successful where Baseball, Foot Ball or any other sport can open up doors to a great education if you don’t make the pro levels.Its a NO BRIANER!
I do feel sorry for JG as far as his mother stealing from him goes, but these guys aren't starving. I think the show overplayed that struggle a bit. Just having the money to buy a home in California makes you far above average. They may not make millions, but a top 10 or 15 pro can earn a good living even without a factory ride with contingency, purse, bonus, and sponsorship money. Be smart and buy a modest home near a good track in Florida or Texas.
As far as other sports go many atheletes for go college to purse their pro careers, especially in baseball. Look at how many "successful" pro atheletes blow all their money and end up broke. Trying to earn a living long term in any sport requires smarts in additiona to talent.
Also the "screwed up families" in MX pale in comparison to the background and upbringing of some of our other pro athletes.
Take Dez Bryant for example. His crack head prostitute mother had him when she was 14. It makes squabbles over controlling or pushy parents seem minor. I bet someone like Dez would love to have their parents take interest in them.
It was a good 1st episode, but it really didn't make our sport look very good from a non moto fan who doesnt know our sport. Very dijecting.
I was standing next to Gary Bailey one time when the father of a 50cc rider asked him when do you know when to remortgage everything to get the money to fund junior's racing career. Bailey almost pissed himself with laughter and called the guy a moron.
Wow, that was deep. Nice to see inside the moto getting real with what racing dirtbikes is all about. I grew up riding, racing and hanging out with guys who made it all the way to the top in the late 90's (and to the top in more areas than just rider). Everybody knew the odds were retardedly stacked against you and that your life span at the top, if you made it there, was very short. Some of us opted to pursue real jobs that were/are sustainable. I feel sorry for any AMA rider who doesn't pursue education or another trade on the side so that when the big crash comes, or the teams quit calling, they have something to fall back on.
The guy above commenting about Ashley "buring" them further and how they should have bought a prius over an suv to save money... [face palm]. That right there is racerxonline comments in a nutshell.
