Pay insurance in full. Find a soft spot. Grab your hat and hang on for 8...ole whirlwind is in the house......
This bike looks like a rocket.
Buy a WR, do some motor mods, and revalve the suspension.
Wow the only review with a realistic oil change interval beyond 2-3 hours. Besides that the guys just trying to sell an add on.
Looks like a rocket, handles like a rocket, and last like a rocket...
really, why do you guys keep putting up these setup tip videos, and they all say the same stuff! Why dont you just post one video and say here this is what everyone says about set up! DONE!
THAT....was helpful.
Not meaning to be a jerk (too late - I know), but I would suggest that your "setup" videos follow the following format:
How does it work without adjustment? Fork/shock balance, relative power feel (roll on, midrange, wfo), tire sutibility for intermediate terrain, feel of the bars/grips/levers. Give the full Ping "feel" review, and keep the perspective the same for each of the offerings. You might give this review as a voiceover while you are circulating some track somewhere, perhaps a GoPro perspective?
Explain how you would set the bike up for hardpack? What changes would you make?
How do you set the bike up for deep sand/loam? What changes you would make?
Does this bike want a pipe? Does it want flywheel weight? Linkage modifications? Did you want to change oil height/air pressure in the forks?
Drain and change the oil while you are giving the hardpack/loam setup tips so we know how to do it.
Just a suggestion. Please don't unleash your leprechaunian temper on me - I am just one of your legions of fans (maybe "fan" is putting it too strongly, how about "observer"). It pains me to see these videos. Yeah, I know, step away from the keyboard and get a real life. I know, I know... I am a douche bag.
@BigUglyManiac, Thanks for speaking on behalf of us 'observers' of whom warrant more than the simple, "sag range is 100 - 105", generalized stock standard answer.
Its almost as bad as the new rider on the new team interviews. "yeah I'm really happy with the team, the bikes great I really like it, I'm excited." blah-blah-blah. Give us detail, give us insight, unless the aim is to dumb-down your audience so that we switch off?? Oh thats right we're all mental challenged from the numerous conscious sustained from trying to be a 'triple' guy, instead of accepting we're only a 'double' guy.
Thankfully we're all Moto addicts that have no life, and instead choose to follow and support our beloved sport of Moto, regardless of the shitty roost that gets flung our way.
That was probably the worst "setup tips" video I've ever seen. The Yamaha guy said to "keep the clickers the same and set your sag. Oh BTW, buy our tuner to help you cater the power". Come on guys!! I love my Yamaha but I knew more about "setting it up" just from riding it and reading a few internet post. That was a waste of bandwidth.
I would expect this from MXA or Dirt Bike Magazine but RacerX...................
@big ugly....'last like a rocket" not so....it might be funky ..it might have some handling issues ...but it will outlast the others 2 to one at least......also no company man is going to admit any of the products is anything less than perfect off the showroom floor ...if you want real answers talk to someone who has owned one awhile or races one or a good mechanic that works on them
Your kidding right?
You forgot to include " Be sure to wear a helmet, eye protection, and boots"
LAME.LAME.LAME.
...you might want to show the folks how to start the thing too. Those that find this video informative at all, will need to know that.
i risked getting busted at work watching videos on the internet for this!!!!! yea very very disapointed mr i forgot yur name from yamaha and racer-x for putting this thing up.
did I miss something on this set up tip, I didn't hear any tips at all,
