Is it possible, the Honda really is a slug this yr? sounds like it.......
@joemotocross
Seems that way so far, 2 for 2 saying it needs more power, however we will see how it behaves with some aftermarket parts...
@joemotocross, I would agree with you on that. If experienced test riders are making these claims, the Honda might not be up to par.
Sounds like they forgot to put the powerbands in the Honda
@cbad must be gritting his teeth so hard chips are flying..."but what about the corporate rental cars they drive and how do they build the Zook without Roger????? thats what matters".lol..The 'down' on power Honda is EXACTLY what 90% of riders need.......and it's nothing an good single pipe a hand grinder and a magic programmer won't fix.(thank you Honda)...Been down the air fork road before...not a fan ... these are better but need some dialing...on the other hand the KTM's sound great.....must be that new linkage system and sand cast cases......RV2 X 2
2 for 2 for Suzuki!! 2 for 2 for second for KTM..it is obvious whee this is going...
I'll apologize in advance for frankenweenies post.
THE ADS HAVE TO STOP!!!! JEESUS CHRIST!
How come every person who has ridden the honda since its debut said they liked it a lot but than these two turds come out and shit on it? Ranking a bike that hasn't changed a thing higher whatever I like my honda and that 2013 crf will own more wins at the end of 2013 than that rmz will bet that ;)

The Honda does´nt look that good either. The front is OK, but the back is terrible! But that is just my opinion... No bad bikes are made anymore. Just personal preferences... The rest is up to the racers right hands! Good luck to all brands and all racers, pro or amateur!
Two turds? Albee and Blose are two great riders who probobly has acomplished more than you in your racing. Yes everybody probobly loves the new Honda just like they did with the new Yamaha when it was released just because it was new and had some new cool design. But when you rode the yamaha it wasn´t so cool anymore.
The new Honda is probobly a really nice bike but the competition seems better out of the box.
@dinosaurmedia, sorry dude he might say that suzuki is #1 but remember that james stewart is riding it and he cant stay on the bike for three laps. Ryan Dungey on the other hand is the national champ and brought KTM to the American standards, so if you think about it, Dungey is way to good for stewart, and he Stewart wont be a challenge to RV or CR either. so it will be RD5, RV2, CR22, and than, maybe JS7, if not BB4, ET, or JB ahead of him for the point standings. so face it, he sucks. maybe the fastest man on earth on a flat track with no turns, but not in SX or MX. It would definitely RD or RV.
and I can't believe that Honda gets that bad of a rating, they need to get aftermarket parts on there and then see what they think. it would at least be three or four.
its funny how shocked some of you are that the all mighty honda is not the preferred bike among Professionals, and well people that actually race
never owned a suzuki, but every time i ride a friends I think its better (smooth power & better handeling). i know a lot of the new design for the honda was based on handling and i wish he would of discussed whether it worked or not. I guess we'll see at monster cup this sat minus js7
Roger turned the KTM into a orange Suzuki very quickly...
And they are talking about stock bikes. No names like CR, RD, RV, JS needed. How much Kawasaki is left in/on a Pro Circuit Kawasaki==
Ill say two things
1. I'll believe what these two say is true once all the other magazines shootouts come out and if everyone says the same thing it is either true or they are payed off haha
2. I'd like to see the top 5 pros do the shootouts every year im sorry but these guys are really not that relavent I'd take say dungey or villopoto's opinion of a bike over than these two
The thing about it is to build a bike that suits everyone? If I'm a beginner rider the Honda might be really nice? If your a pro you can pretty well assume suspension and pipe will be a must. So I'm not hating the Honda at all, I buy them because they are dependable which $for$ is important. I've ridden Suzuki's and for the most part loved them but seen issues with dependability, so I stick with red. I think a lot of people including myself were expecting a blow out year for Honda so it's a shock to everyone after watching this video. Chris Blose is a pro racer and I am not so it makes no difference to me, I'm interested to hear what other caliber riders have to say.. ..
@claxton I completley agree they should do 2 days max on stock give their report and than do what they or what they think any racer would prefer to have done to the bike and than resume the testing . I got my 13 crf and rode it 3 times before putting the yoshi full system on it and it opened it up quite a bit, It may be a little lean so in the near future I may mess with the mapping but you are correct their are very few people who buy a new bike and ride it stock. So basically by what these guys are saying we wont be seeing much of barcia, reed, or canard on the podium this year because their bike sucks righttttttt
Also why does everyone start talking about RD5 and CR22 and RV2...???? There is nothing stock about those guys bikes, so what the FFFF does the monster energy cup have to do with a Shootout??? Smarten up people you don't go to the Honda store and buy Reeds bike get a fricken Grip!!!!,!
and how did kx go from #1 to #3 thats just as big as a shock to hondas last place, I have a hard time believing that the ktm is better than the kx This guy I know bought the dungey edition and he hates it he said his 350 was way better he said the thing dont turn worth a shit
Why was it such a small review in terms of personel. In previous shootouts, they have usually the same number of riders as there is bikes and they all swap and take turns. They get a good mix of pros, semi-pros and higher tier amatuers. We are talking about stock bikes here. Who cares what a professional thinks when what he rides is so far from these.
With a large cross section of riders you get a better appraisal. everyone picks there 1 to 5 ranking and you mix it all together and see what comes out with the most votes.
@jeramy- the KTM is built for fast riders. The thing does not turn unless it is really attacked. It has been a #1 runner the last few years... or runner up... so no surprise
@chosen1- You just described MXAs shootout( no offence RX!) But a stock shootout is good for us folks that can't afford 8g for a bike than another $2500 in pipes and suspension...
Its sad to see the Yammy struggle the last few years, ive always been a big fan... but electric start and a hyd clutch at my age 39, ill buy the KTM first of last. :)
Shootouts are nothing but opinions.Race whatever brand you feel comfortable an think you can win on.
Looks to me in the videos that the Honda is stink bugging again. The front end just looks like its diving every where.Maybe it the new air forks or maybe the frame rake change makes it look that way.
Let me say that Chris Blose is scary ! fast i live in AZ and see him ride a lot. This guy knows his way around a MX or SX track on any bike. The fact that he likes one bike over another has more to do with him and less with the bikes. He knows what suits his ridding style, you need to do the same and then make a choice you may surprise your self as to what you pick.
