Yoshimura Suzuki's James Stewart came out of the gate with a bang before crashing at round three of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Thunder Valley. From there it was some stops and starts before this weekend at Unadilla, where a fractured finger and surgery ended his season.
In this podcast we talk about the switch to Suzuki, working with those guys, thoughts on the track and as well, whether he should use the clutch more or less. Listen in as Stewart gives his usual great interview.

@motoxer4533, works for me too. He really does a good interview. He is very personable and easy to listen to. Also cool having him reference to when he was racing Ricky for a number of years, something only he and Chad can claim of the top guys.
I think it would be very exciting for Stewart or Reed to win the SX Title in 2013 in the latter stages of their careers. RV and RD will be very tough to beat and persistent but I hope Stewart and Reed shake things up. As I have always said, the sport is far better with Stewart in and racing versus out and/or hurt.
This guy is a complete moron. Complaining about his team, complaining about the track... F you Stew.

Yeah pretty decent interview. Very down to earth guy. I agree with @JonR290, wouldn't mind seeing him and/or Reed win again before the end of their careers. It's looking more and more to me that the days of McGrath and Carmichael where there's several years of dominance is just not gonna be the case anymore. Dungey and Villopoto are still very young and don't ever rule out Canard, and are gonna be around a long long time, and this crazy ass 250 class in the nationals is nuts!!! Baggett, Barcia, Tomac, Roczen. I'm pretty sure we'll see Barcia on a 450 next year too. I really like the fact that no one (those who are honest with themselves) can really say who's gonna win the next few SX/MX titles, much less dominate. I respect Stewart and Reed, lots of history there, and while they'll always be in contention for race wins, I hardly think either of them will "dominate" the sport going forward. At least not against either of the Ryans, or any of the upcoming guys from the 250 class
The complete interview tells alot especially how he feels about his fans comments....Havoc keeps saying 'its all good', but I don't know if thats true....I have always liked James and have enjoyed watching him ride ...and I don't really care what he does in his personal life, not my business ...and he hasn't "caused anyone to lose their home"...lol .....But I truly hope he actually can pick it back up and keep it on 2 wheels because its only going to get harder from here on out....its funny though cause I don't know ONE ..not ONE real racer that doesn't like James.....are some disappointed in him or would so do things differently ...of course ...but the true hatred is mostly from the obsessed/ stalking /envious or secret man loving non riders , or just plain miserable ignorant racist creepy dudes on here who want him to quit or even get hurt...which is pathetic. I wish him luck as racing is better with him and when all the injured riders get back out there....the Monsta' Cup should be quite a show down. PS.. that track did look like a rutty rocky slick funky piece of crap (and I LIKE Unadilla.)..but every body else had to ride it to.................
I still feel like he just does not get, or what not. I would hate to be under such scrutiny, but he does not care about his fans. ACTIONS speak LOUDER than words. You don't do anything for the sport, you don't even show up for your brother!
Great job Mattes, but you let him get a way with wishy washy statements about his hand and wrist. I get you want to not piss him off and want to keep him talking though.
James, you are talented, but lazy. It is hard to be smart, but it is not hard to tell the truth. If you just didn't lie so much and try to skate the hard answers, fans would rally. And "what not"..

@tonewall – you get the award for the comment of the day. Your statement “…its funny though cause I don't know ONE ..not ONE real racer that doesn't like James” is absolutely on the money. We tend to hear the ugly side of racism and a race-based agenda in comments from a couple people. However, anyone that rides and races regularly marvels at the ability of Stewart and finds his crashes sad.
@Tonewall @JonR290 I agree - well said. I dont rally care to post much on here anymore because of the blatant ignorance by some - they know who they are and their hatred is just sad...even articles that have nothing to do with James he is brought up in.
@Lisaoutriding name me 5 golf pros that are black?? and believe me there are plenty of white basketball players that are pro...the world is bigger than the U.S. you know? I really don't see where your rant has merit.

dinosourmedia....Did I say a thing about being black? What the heck did you read into my comment about him referencing other sports. Make orange comparisons to oranges. Not moto to golf, or moto to b-ball....I do not rant and loved the interview. Very glad he finally decided to talk to someone about his injuries....months later and with plenty of "well, my hand was ok, but my wrist was sketchy"....Fine and finally.
There is not much hatred here or on any of these sites, except when people like you read the wrong thing or race card into any comment.

Thanks again to Matthes for trying to ask the hard questions. Listen to the interview again. James is always waffling around the questions. Loved when he did finally admit he was not in racing shape. Finally, an honest answer and I loe him more for that than any other part of the interview. it is hard to be in the limelight, but if you don't want to race, just say so. Kepp on riding James, we love to see you win, or lose!

IMO- Stewart is done, he will race a like washed up football player just for the money and the few fans he still has. It is a shame went from the F.M.O.P to B.W.O.T.(biggest waste of talent) See you 5th thru 10th or on the ground JS7, or at all in 2013. : )
Did you all not see the pace he puts out? How can any of you say he is done? And he has not offended me in anyway. Villopoto has crashed out 3 of the last 4 seasons in the 450 class. Is that not dissappointing for RV fans? Stewart is actually one of the best with his fans, he puts on ride days to interract with them and has dinners before supercross races. What other rider is that one on one with their fans? He doesnt have to be out there. He has enough money to retire. How is that letting fans down. If hes still giving it all he has and he is still out there then im gonna be a fan. Im not gonna bandwagon to the next best rider like alot of people have.
The felon comments are funny. All you goody tooshoos. Never got a ticket before? Probably have never owned a fast car? Or had fun? So many of these riders have had their run ins with the law. Go to an after party. You will see too much.

I know of some funny stories of guys being pulled over with spot lights and questioned with the lights in their face. Far worse than using lights to pull someone to the side and driving around them.
You people treat this like he killed one of your family members. Maybe if he was dressed like a cop pulling people over and arresting them he should have the book thrown at him. That did not happen, so get over it. I'm sure you hillbilly's are guilty of far worse incest crimes.

Unfortunately, when the topic of Stewart comes up, you throw all your common sense out the window and get generally hostile and degrading toward other posters that have anything positive to say about Stewart. Lisa don't let some one run you off, these are just comments, some good some bad, but they carry no weight....If you don't like a comment don't respond to it, some of them are posted just to illicit a response from the others.....Its up to you ...remember racers don't pull off just cause of a gets tough track....
I have only been a member of RacerX for a few months but so far i have come to conclude there are some good posts and some not so good posts.
Down here in OZ if you race you get respect from every racer, so i can not understand all this bull shyt talk about JS7, the man is a fast racer a fellow racer, isnt why we all are fans of this sport & racerX because we love/live for the sport, leave the bull shyt hate out of racing and save that shyt for the race track where we all battle each other once that gate drops, after the race we all respect each other, get over it and make the sport more respectable, its got bad coverage as it is let alone with this in-house hate towards each other & fellow racers.
I am a true race fan and a local race competitor myself and i only wish i could run at the speed of JS7, i would be right in saying that no one, no one on this site could run at the pace of JS7 so stop hating and start respecting the sport and the top pros.
It is very interesting to hear him say that Mike Webb said "Slow down"! If JS would slow down and not ride over his head, he could easily be a top 3 guy in any series and that is what frustrates the heck out of me. People don't say that he rides over his head, but even his boss is telling him to back it off and keep it on 2 wheels! If he did not have to go WFO all the time, he could have been in the mix for the title every year he has been racing other than sitting n the couch.
Always enjoy when Stewey is being interviewed he is honest, funny and sounds like he likes talking but I think we should change his nick name to ( what not ) because he says it a lot in all his interviews.
