i think they need to switch brand bikes right now before they get any deeper in the hole. You know everyone says. oh, its not the bike, the bike is awesome. which maybe it is for most riders., but its going to be hard for the riders on a blue bike now knowing that if the bike isnt working for them the whole mental game comes into play and everything starts going downhill results wise. (james stewart)
bermblaster - I have to agree. The last new bike brand I would ever buy at this point is the Yamaha. I give credit to Milsaps for doing so well on a bike that almost every other rider gets thrown off of ( i.e. Kyle Regal, et al ) Change bikes and win....stay with Yamaha and be an also ran
JGR will ultimately win as they have a long-term plan/vision, have good people, and strong financial resources. Also, Yamaha has a long history of winning so I am sure they will return to good form (whether it is the 450 bike or not and I saw a ton of blue up front at Loretta's this week) in short order. It's great for the sport to have them involved and I wish them much success.
You got to be kidding ! James crash Stewart crashes on this bike and its the bike ? Look at how James did in his heat races one of the fastest lap time of the day but when the heat was on he crashed. Nick Wey baged on the Yamaha and he did way better on the Yamaha than he has on the Kawasaki. Hart and Hunnington is dropping Kawasakis and going to Suzukis so what does it all mean? That only the people that need excuses use the bike ! If one of the Ryans was on this bike you would have never thought twice about the bike !
yeah,if you look at the "wake up call" posted today,BLUE bikes WON 4 out of the 9 fo fiddy classes posted at LLs....hmmm
Two things for sure .... .....The Stewart deal was a seback and wholesale changes are not good............Give JGR credit for staying with the plan.

I have a feeling that a lot of people have that same feelig that if they werent brand bias and were gonna go buy a 2013 this year i have a feeling that yamaha is the last or not even an option at all
however i feel JGR is smart for staying loyal as they are not hurting for money its yamaha that needs to step it up and rumor has it they got a whole new bike coming out in 2014 but if JGR leaves and goes with another brand they are just a small bish in a big pond or at the bottom of the totum pole but if they stay loyal they are THE team not just one of them
I got a little news for all you guys that love to bag on the different brands just because you don't like a certain bike. There is nothing wrong with the Yamaha & I love and ride Honda's. Joe Gibbs Racing "will" win no matter what brand they represent. They're a first class organization that no "motorcycle" Factory team is going to match unless they step up their program. Give JGR time, they "will" dominate this sport in the future. Mr. Gibbs is a winner, you don't win in the NFL by being a slacker. Coy & Jeremy are going to carry that attitude on. 20yrs from now, people are going to look back on the sport and you will see JGR records...and yes, I almost guarantee they will be around 20yrs from now. They've already brought in some huge outside the sport sponsors...They aren't in this for the short term and you'll be amazed at who ends up riding for them and winning with them in the future. Best thing that ever happened to this sport.
Not counting the few SX wins that JS had,how many heat races did he win???
Did he win those heats and then just switch to a DIFFERENT bike for the mains,(where he crashed out???) BIKE is good enough to win heats but, HE was not good enough to win mains???
i love this team and what they are doing!, ,..but they will never win a championship unless they get one of the few top riders...No one expects certain factory riders to ever win a race, because certain factory riders will not ever win again...Short for example!!
The team has no ex moto champ to guide them!!! THey have rich little daddys boy,,,being a nice guy isn't enough...You don't develope character by having a easy get whatever you want life!!! THis team is missing key ingredients....SOrry for the truth...
Any time you have people investing money, time, and desire to a sport is a great thing, no matter what their back ground or the bike and sponsors.
Hey grh450, how many championships has JS7 won (not to mention 24 straight moto wins)? How many have you won? Factory teams will be non-existant one day and it'll be up to teams like JGR to keep our sport going. And BTW Canadianmxfan, Factory Honda doesn't have an ex-moto champ guiding them.
did you NOT see the ??? in my post???
I am NOT questioning Stewies' championships, and or moto wins.I AM questioning why he could win heats, but not mains on the same bike,in order to make a point that the BIKE was FINE for the heat race wins
and I have probably won just as many championships as YOU ;)
hey socalxr,,,this will blow your mind...COpied from racer x archive...After reading it you'll see Eric kehoe in a new light!!! who would you want as a manager, someone like DeCoster for sure but not everyone can have that. How about Payton..FOr sure...Or rich daddys little boy who never had hard times or had to work hard for food and still come up short...PRobly never raced and now he gets a team... OR..
5. 1993, Gatorback: Just a superb race, Team Honda’s new superstar Jeremy McGrath had a 125cc battle on his hands for the entire race from veteran (and privateer) Erik Kehoe. Heading to the finish, Kehoe pinned his Honda of Troy bike and leaped some 100-plus feet out of the famous gator pit, passing MC in mid air to take the last moto win of his career....Thats beyond words!!!!! I"ll take Eric Kehoe as manager any day!!
I drive a toyota , and ride the new yz450f. my next decal kit to freashen her up will be a jgr kit, why? cuse you cant help but like a team that didint have to go moto but did cuse kibbs boy had a passion for it and a understanding of how hard riders work and he wanted in on that . these guys are great for the sport and will win .
No the bike is not perfect, is there such a thing? yamaha started the racing 4stroke a lot of you forget that, they will step up to the plate and improve it but its not a bad bike . jgr imho just got james at the wrong time and it didint work out. millsaps has been solid for them however.
I drool everytime i see there bikes, they look sick!
James Stewart said the bike sucks,So EVERYBODY automatically assumes the bike sucks......This is just a bandwagon, and your all riders...change the color and the name on the side, let James ride it again and say its awesome....Then everybody will be buying the bike.....
If there is going to be growth in our sport, teams like JGRMX are the future. The OEM's have been tapped for funds for probably over 10 years now so they cannot afford to expand racing. The OEM's need to save their money and allow independent teams to grow racing so manufactures can concentrate on sales. Hopefully JGRMX is selling their parts and pieces to justify staying in it.
About the whole James blaming/hating the YZ, I could be wrong but wasn't involved with R&D and of the New 2010 450 when he raced for San Manuel which was the closet thing to Yamaha's Factory team?
@KTMike - Yes he was.
I built a killer fully insulated large shop on my property last year complete with hot parts washers, a gym, kickin sound system, internet, big screen TV, stainless steel roll away tool boxes etc.....I thought it was pretty cool until I saw the JGR shop in this video....OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!! My shop looks like a booger in comparison!
I love how a video about JGR becomes a discussion about Yamaha and how bad that bike is. The topic should be, who's going to ride for JGR? Let's face it, Milsaps and Regal are not contenders. Like it or not Yamaha's have that negative perception among pro's, perception feeds confidence, confidence leads to wins, wins leads to championships. I think there are plenty of riders who will ride for a JGR paycheck, but who really is going to step up and challenge the "5" (Soon to be 6 with Barcia) for wins, and do it with confidence on a Yamaha?
