Your Collection: 1970 ATC 90

Here is one of my favorite things in the world (my oldest son, lol) and he is riding my 1970 ATC 90. This thing is all stock and runs like a top. Starts first pull. This was made to fold down and come apart so it could go into a car truck. Trucks where much bigger back in 1970.

These things were bullet proof, you could not kill these and they would start with one pull every time !

Those were a lot of fun once you got the hang of it! In the mid to lat 70's the ATC 70 was the way to go with pit bikes. You could do all kinds of stuff with those little critters. Wish I still had my 70.
I rode exactly 2 of these, and I bent exactly 2 axles in a L shape, most dangerous thing on earth,...besides a woman,....well, maybe a Hodaka.
In the mid 70s me and 5 or 6 of my buddies had ATC 70s for pit bikes. On off weekends we had a track set up on the sidewalks of a nearby high school and those were without a doubt the funnest motos I have ever had! The good ole days!!!
The glory days of motorcycle manufacturing. All steel (except for the motor) and performance was measured in reliability rather than speed. Have we really progressed in the last 40 years? A less than $1000 ATC90 versus a more than $10,000 CRF450? Both put the same smile on your face, and you suck on both of them. Yeah, the ATC is slow, but since you are riding around a track, you aren't going anywhere, so why do you need to get there fast? Maybe time hasn't been good to us...
Nice to learn how to wheelie on, but otherwise I couldn't ride them. At all. Trikes steer opposite of a bike, obviously (no counter-steer), and I got tired of steering right into things I was trying to turn away from. The little I ever rode a quad I never had the problem; they clearly being so different. But on the trike, the pilot-view is the same as a bike and after two turns I would forget, revert to bike mode, and steer right into something. I can't be the only one.
Can't speak for the next guy, but for me the trikes (over the little pit bikes) were the most dangerous thing I ever rode.
my dad has one of these in a bunch of pieces in the barn, he said he used to be able to ride it around the dock at the lake. i guess the kind of float? do they have any value?
Yes, they do float. Pretty unstable with rider, but float indeed. I also know that a banshee will float with no rider on it. That was funny to witness.......
Man, I thought Barbra Walters and the liberals killed the 3 wheelers back in the day. After reading some of your comments, I'm starting to wonder?

The tires alone are worth more than the bike (trike).
Nice! I've got a two 1978 ATC 110's and they are a blast for the backyard GNCC. If you can ride a trike well - everything else is a piece of cake. That's what I love about them...seeing if you can ride the wild bull and not get bucked!
